Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has
declared the result for the Civil Services Mains Exam 2012.The successful
candidates will appear in the interview, which will lead to the final selection in
the Indian Administrative Service(IAS), Indian Foreign Service(IFS), Indian Police
Service(IPS) and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).
The Mains were held in October 2012 and over 12,000 candidates appeared
for the exam.In an around,2674
candidates qualified for the interview which is about 2.5 times the total
vacancies this year, listed as 1037 in the CSE notification for 2012.This is the first time that the Mains
result has been declared in February and before the notification for the next
year.
The Interview
(Personality Test) for the same will commence from March 4, 2013.The mark-sheets of candidates, who
have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from
the date of publication of the final result.
